Guitarist and multi-instrumentalist Ronny Gutierrez (R.G.) was born strictly to make music. His father, Hernan Gutierrez, was the pianist and composer/arranger for Colombian pioneers of Salsa, Fruko y sus Tesos. The strong foundation his legacy left behind equipped Ronny with a vast musical vocabulary and was the driving force behind his intense passion for his craft.

South Florida provided a broad range of musical textures to soak in, so due to his insatiable thirst for knowledge, he relentlessly spent up to 10-12 hours a day meticulously practicing his instrument and studying many musical styles. During these early years, Ronny reconnected with his dad's old friend and engineer Carlos Diaz-Granados and began working as a studio musician and assisting in recording sessions at Miami Sound Studio.

In 2002, Ronny got a call to do some session work for Richie Booker, and played guitar alongside Cedella Marley (Bob's mother) at the 10th Annual Marleyfest in 2003. During this time, he continued doing studio and live work around town.

In 2004, through the Marley family, Ronny was introduced to Kēvens and joined the band for their performance at Miami's Ultra Music Festival. Moved by Ronny's passion and humility, Kēvens offered him a permanent spot in the band and began touring the U.S. and sharing the stage with Rabbit in the Moon, Roni Size Reprazent, Ky-Mani Marley, Stephen Marley, Damian Marley. Kēvens is known for a beautifully lush drum 'n' bass amalgam of vocal dexterity and musicianship, mixed with a progressive and funky, rock/reggae style.

The Kēvens entourage hit the studio in late 2009 to record their debut album on RumBum Records at producer/songwriter George Noriega's Cutting Cane Studio. Produced by Grammy-Award winner Bob Rosa—who has worked with a wide range of pop and dance artists including Michael Jackson, Prince, Afrika Bambaataa, Jay-Z, and Duran Duran—it is an album that indeed finds Kēvens fusing his reggae roots into a panorama of unexpected rhythms and ideas into something that sounds truly like no other.

In July 2010, Ronny ranked 1st place in Guitar Center's nationwide Steve Vai contest where Vai himself picked 10 winners to attend a private masterclass with him in Hollywood, California. As of late 2010, Ronny has also been working with latin artists Frankie J, El Kata, Jencarlos Canela, and Monte*Rosa, as well as playing live and writing music with his metal band, Exit Earth.
