The Raconteur thrives on incongruity and, accordingly, their events have covered a broad spectrum, oscillating between high and low culture, swinging from graffiti art shows to chamber quartets, from Pulitzer Prize winning poet Paul Muldoon to Fugazi frontman Ian MacKaye, from Bindlestiff Cirkus founder Keith Nelson swallowing a three foot illuminated neon tube to Peruvian native Daniel Eggers playing the Andean quenna, a flute that sounds like whistling wind.
