The teacher who worked 9 hours in school and 5 hours after school, may now have their work load reduced to 5 hours total work a day with the influx of teachers.
You need to realize, there's no "riding off of" someone's efforts.
In socialism the workload is DRASTICALLY reduced as education and training is free and available for all, and the workforce will grow immensely from the influx of those who worked capitalist jobs and those who will no be able to go to school. You are guaranteed a home and food. So you do not have to work 2 jobs and not be able to go to school.
The incentive argument is a false argument. What incentive do I have to work 2 jobs and still be below the poverty line? My kids need clothes and books for school. In the socialist stage, money is replaced with a voucher system which is awarded to those who work. All work is equal. You work a set amount and you receive your vouchers to get food, clothing, etc. This system is temporary until we can provide an overabundance of goods. You need to realize that poverty is non-existent in socialism. Everyone will be able to work, everyone will have a house, be clothed, have food on the table, be provided an education, be guaranteed a decent life, be guaranteed treatment for illness, be guaranteed transportation, etc.
Socialism actually means that production will equal the demand of the people and when possible produce more than demanded so that produce can be stored for latter use. If 100 houses are needed to be built, they will be built. If 3 sewage treatment plants need to be built and put into operation, they will be. If the area is in need of 4000 litres of milk, 4000 litres of milk will be produced to meet the demand. If
You can have a job you love and enjoy, and still have parts of it that aren't as good as others.
I know a lot of people who love manual labour and building things. They'd love to be construction workers if they could make some money from it and have a guaranteed job that lasts longer than a single project.
Communism is international.
We can achieve socialism in a single nation. But to achieve communism, we have to have a majority of the nations to have already achieved socialism.
There will be less need for long work days as the workforce is spread in the important fields. A doctor who would have had to work 16 hour days in capitalism, will work 5 hour days in communism due to the influx of doctors.
Irrelevant/capitalism based jobs become obsolete -- prostitution, salesmen, CEO, businessmen, cashier, etc, etc. This creates more free people to take up important positions that they desire, but cannot afford in capitalism.
Training and education is FREE and EASILY AVAILABLE for every single person, in whichever field they wish (so long as they meet the prerequisites -- good grades in high school, etc.). This allows everyone to do something they are interested in, and work at it.
So long as everyone is able to do what they wish -- People who enjoy first response medicine will easily become paramedics, people who enjoy cooking, hairstyling, designing/developing video games, etc. will be able to do so.
I, for one, would not just sit around and do nothing all day. Would you sit around and do nothing all day? Or would you rather go to school for something you want to do, and then do it?
