There is a verse that instructed us how to fight in the battles by telling us to kill the non-believer and stop once they surrender.

if any one slew a person - unless it be for murder or for spreading mischief in the land - it would be as if he slew the whole people: and if any one saved a life, it would be as if he saved the life of the whole people.

If you don't believe me, read the whole quran yourself and you will find that the Christians and Jews are referred to respectfully as the "People of the Book". I once again challange anyone to bring me proof proving otherwise.

Also, from whatever benefit you may get from my answer, all I ask is that from now on, if someone says that the Bible, or the Quran, or Vedas, or the Torah, etc., or anyone person or book for that matter says something , ask the person who told you for refrences and check them up. Even me, go check it up.
