About Me:
I love the Blues, Bluegrass, Roots Rock, Classic Rock, Old Time Nostalgic and Novelty Tunes, and Songs about Dogs. I am a geek when it comes to Dogs. I once cared for 2 old Golden Retrievers that were Therapy Mascots for US Veterans in a VA Hospital Domiciliary. I was their last Veteran Caretaker for 6 months before Barney and Fred were retired from Service to the farm of a retiring Nurse to live out their last days. I have had numerous family and friends trust me to help them train and care for their Dogs over the years and now I have the first dog of my very own since I was a child. I chose the Chihuahua because they are known as the dog with the longest average life span and they are like a breed apart from nearly all other dogs except a couple other small breeds which are similar. I was very fortunate to get a dog that was exactly what I was in need for. He gets me up in the morning and makes me move. He calms me at night and helps me sleep and keeps me calm when I get anxious. He brings me joy at times when I am sad. He entertains me when I am bored. He gives me warmth when I am cold. He is just small enough to be very portable yet just large enough to be feisty and strong. Duke is my full-time job. We are often mistaken for a 2 headed beast that looks part Human with a touch of Canine sprouting out of my chest as he loves to ride in my coat or arms. I often tell him: "eres mi corazón"...
I like REAL music. Music is open to interpretation which means that what is REAL to some totally eludes others. A good musician is patient and a good listener keeps an open mind.

My Guitars:
Electrics:
I currently own a 7 String Fender Stagemaster and a Dean Vendetta (The Dean is Super Light, Cheap, and sounds OK for an axe that set me back 80 bucks NIB). The Fender 7 String is a project I am slowly working on restoring starting with the blue metallic paint job I sprayed her with.
Acoustic:
I just picked up a Mitchell MD-100 NIB for a penny shy of a hundred bucks. Guitar Center was having a 44th Birthday Celebration and I liked the tone of this cheap guitar. It has a laminated spruce top (prefer solid but the MD-100S is 50 to 80 bucks more expensive) and is 25.5 scale but sounds better than many other acoustics in the price range I have checked out recently (would prefer to get a shorter scale if only I could afford one). It was affordable and plays real nice for a cheap Dreadnought. Wayne Mitchell, the founder of Guitar Center, is the reason these inexpensive guitars are available. Mitchell is the Guitar Center Brand (not to be confused with Bil Mitchell handmade acoustics).

"Ever since my 35lb Schnauzer Canine Pal Dusty the Moose Dog bit me, I find myself howling at my own harmonica playing when I over-blow the 7 hole on my F Sharp or High G. At least I am not peeing on fire hydrants, but my beard seems to be getting tougher around the time of the full moon, which has me somewhat concerned." -- Mark "Quinoacat" Harper
Every human child must learn the universe fresh. Every stockdog pup carries the universe within him. Humans have externalized their wisdom - stored it in museums, libraries, the expertise of the learned. Dog wisdom is inside the blood and bones. ~Donald McCaig

REAL music. Anything that helps balance out my abnormal brainwaves...I especially dig the sounds of a good Harmonica player tearing it up. Food For Thought:
A story tells that two friends were walking
through the desert. During some
point of the journey they had an argument, and one friend slapped the other one in the face. The one who got slapped was hurt,
but without saying anything, wrote in the sand:
TODAY MY BEST FRIEND
SLAPPED ME IN THE FACE.
They kept on walking until they found an oasis, where they decided to take a bath. The one who had been slapped got stuck in the mire and started drowning, but the friend saved him.
After he recovered from the near
drowning, he wrote on a stone:
TODAY MY BEST FRIEND SAVED MY LIFE.
The friend who had slapped and
saved his best friend asked him,
'After I hurt you, you wrote in the
sand and now, you write on a stone,
why?' The other friend replied 'When someone
hurts us we should write it down in sand where winds of forgiveness can erase it away. But, when someone does something good for us, we must engrave it in stone where no wind can ever erase it.'
LEARN TO WRITE YOUR HURTS IN THE SAND
AND TO CARVE YOUR BENEFITS IN STONE.
They say it takes a minute to find a special person, an hour to appreciate them,
a day to love them, but then an entire life to forget them.
