I do Tae Kwon Do, Street Fighting, a bit Kick Boxing, Boxing, Capoeira, Kumdo, I'm a breakdancer, and im trying to learn Muay Thai. What I've learned isn't just speed or strength, but it's intelligence. Hapkido mostly use intelligence. same as a ninja, or bushikido, they use weak points such as the underarm, thighs, elbow, head, and your balls. Most of what Tae Kwon Do use is speed and power, but that is because the rules are different. If it was a street fight then intelligence would win no doubt. It is better to say dodge a bullet then to get hit, but like kingkong you keep hitting your enemy. How to fight off a knife is better then getting hit and still keep fighting. Many great martial arts such as Hapkido, Hwarangdo, Bushikido, and even Kung Fu fights enemy with mind.
