I actually teach myself covers as well as I learn them from my dad who was been playing for 31 years. I could learn any song I wanted by ear, I just don't feel like sitting down and using a process which would take 2-3x longer to do. What's the point when I can just pop open a tab and learn the majority of it then fill in the rest by ear?

from a guitarist to another one, if you want to learn much more, just play things like guns n roses, i dont know...
with slipknot, korn, things like that you get "Stopped".
