An experimental piece where I combined some old neo-classical music I wrote with a poem. I think the effect is pretty cool. It's always fun seeing how music and text interact, especially when I use Xtranormal's voice software. The voice comes out fairly neutral, so all the "emotion" is conveyed by the meaning of the text and the sounds of the music with it.

Just another something that no one else on Earth would have considered doing, probably for good reason.
Lyrics:
Once when we saw entropy Swirling 'round in ecstasy We chased our tails until we found the truth Ringing in the centrifuge Holding back what we refused This method we found we had to do.
And when I looked up and saw The universe begin to thaw I knew then what I know now I'd have to make it through somehow Perhaps you'd understand If you would just take my hand I'll help to open your eyes If you would just believe my lies.
It ain't nothing but a technicality These things I say They ain't nothing but a technicality.
Through the mist of time When will it end? Turning on a dime To find This isn't what should be But it's what we have When will we find ourselves Whole again?
Turning back the page we read Pushing through into your head Sometimes I wonder if I just look for words to rhyme Without concern for what they mean I'd look back at the things we've seen But I find I don't have the time.
So when I look up and see What looks so much like me Looking back at my face Trying to pretend it's grace Then the world would spin Without concern for my sin And the past would just die Maybe just one more lie.
It ain't nothing but a technicality These things I say They ain't nothing but a technicality.
Through the mist of time When will it end? Turning on a dime To find This isn't what should be But it's what we have When will we find ourselves Whole again?

Words & Music by Peter Pike.
You take one look at me and say that I'm a freak. But I don't really care because you don't mean much to me. You think my universe revolves around your life You give yourself too much credit, so carelessly.
I, I am not here I'm not the one I do not care at all I, I am not here I'm not the one I do not feel at all
I really don't care what you do or say today It's not my big concern, not even on my list of things to do So maybe you should get another whipping boy Because quite frankly I am sick and tired of you.
And if you hear me crying in the night It has nothing to do with anything to do with you It's just the endless life of misery That keeps us all pressed to the grindstone of worthless apathy.
You think that you control my every thought But I'll show you that you don't have any power at all I run my life and it's just as I please So go your way because to me you're just a wall.
And if you hear me crying in the night It has nothing to do with anything to do with you It's just the endless life of misery That keeps us all pressed to the grindstone of worthless apathy. I know I lie a lot even to me But it's just my way to cope with all the stuff you put me through It's all a lie but maybe some day soon It'll turn out to be something close to true.
I, I am not here.
