This is available on a CD of Tournemire's complete recordings. It seems as though the version here has had a lot of the hiss and pops taken out. The sound is a lot fuller and more natural than the CD. It would be great to find the other items similarly enhanced.

I feel rather ambivalent towards Guillou as a musician. Very little of his music seems all that well written, and he doesn't seem to proofread anything so it is always riddled with errors. Similarly, his playing is extremely sloppy with wrong notes and distorted rhythms everywhere. Here, what sho...

This is really a great tempo for this piece, aided by the recording which captures so much of the detail and harmonic intricacy. I've got to hand it to anyone who can play this b**** so beautifully at such a happy clip. I've heard it murdered by famous organists at a much slower tempo.

Nice performance of this piece, probably the best on YouTube. The slow movement of this concerto has been a favorite of mine since I was about 14. The chord at 2:41 and again at 3:29 is a minor miracle. Absolutely gorgeous stuff, even if the rest of the piece is a little weak in spots.

Sorry to dissent. Penin is obviously technically formidable, but I don't find much compelling here. A lot of the time, he is using extremely active figurations which are completely lost, particularly the rapid repeated notes and pedal tremolandi. His harmonic sense is not very engaging in this im...
