The NSERC Photovoltaic Innovation Network is a Canadian network that conducts research in photovoltaics (solar cells) and focuses exclusively at the level of the cell, which is the key element in the conversion of solar energy to usable electricity.

Our research will lead to the development of lower cost, higher efficiency and more reliable solar cells that are suitable for a wide range of applications, including solar farms, remote power sources, rooftops and windows, automobiles and disposable electronics.

We have four technical research themes - inorganic, organic, hybrid and nano-structured PV devices - with additional collaboration on socio-economic factors and public policy.
