Additionally, I would like to draw your attention to the second in the list of local news outlets that covered the story, Milwaukee Courier Online. The robber was not killed, only wounded.

Imagine Chase (the boy) and Brooklyn (the girl) are adults. Chase is a symbolic representation of the man who Sarah's character is with. Brooklyn is "the other woman." He's cheating on his wife/fiance/girlfriend (Sarah) and the scene where he's is crying is the point in the story where "the other woman" has left him. The home video scene is early in the relationship, the slap on the face is domestic abuse, the glass tossed on the floor is when he's been drinking too much, et cetera.

Shaved is nice to kiss, nice to look at, nice to... ahem, have congress with. The downside is that prickly feeling when it's not quite smooth.
