3-4 hours is a long time:) I make a lovely dulce de leche cheesecake and I just take a can of swtnd conds'd milk and microwave it for 2 min intervals and whisk in between so that the mixture is uniform in colour, texture and of course, taste. Usually, I only end up microwaving for about 18-24 min...
