- Getting To Nex -
Enter Godwars the normal way you usually would and go between the Armadyl and Saradomin sections of the dungeon and there should be a Frozen Door. The door is unlocked by a Frozen Key (obtained by killing the minions of each of the 4 gods in their own section of the dungeon) which starts with 5 charges. This Frozen Key degrades each time you go through the Frozen Door. Bob at Lumbridge can repair the key or you can repair it yourself for a discounted price at the armour stand in your POH. Once you go through the Frozen Door you go down a Hole similar to the one at the main entrance to GWD. Rest to restore run energy (you only need 30% to get through the Kill Count area). Once you have the run energy put on pray mage and run through the Kill Count area. If you don't have them equipped already then equip your Ancient Ceremonial robes (allows you to access Zaros section without killcount). Once you do this you will be in the Nex bank room.
- General Teamwork -
Most teams at Nex are very helpful. You can expect your grave to get blessed and to be free'd from Ice Prison if you should happen to get caught in one. Most, but not all, teams are very friendly in this way. Infact, most teams have it as a rule to free people from Ice Prison and to Bless Graves.
- Finding a Nex Team -
Finding a Nex team is pretty simple. Use the "Teamwork" section of the official Runescape forums. There you will find all different kinds of Nex teams. Most Nex teams will will ask you to Quick Chat your Ranged, Herblore, Summoning and Dungeoneering levels(depending of what the requirements to join the team are).
- Potting Up -
When Nex Spawn he is un-attackable nor does he attack you. He summon each of his four minions before combat is initiated. This leaves you just enough time to Overload, Brew up, sip Restore, get prayers on and Dragon Claws Ready. (If overload runs out make sure to re-overload)
- Shadow Phase Prayer -
It's debated whether or not Protection Prayers work on Nex's Shadow Phase. I myself use Prot. Range prayer although some players use Redemption or even Prot. Mage.
- Spectral( vs. Eagle Eye Kiteshield)/Infinity Boots -
Some teams won't allow Spectral or Infinity boots because their considered 'leech equipment' (They have high magic defence with no ranged attack bonus, and Nex tanks person with lowest mage defence). It all depends on the team(Most teams learn towards maxing your ranged attack and not allowing people to join with low ranged attack bonus and high magic defence). Eagle Eye Kiteshield costs 200,000 Dungeoneering Tokens and is very similar to Spectral Spirit Shield except Eagle Eye has 14% Magic Absorbtion and 7% Ranged Absorbtion with Ranged Attack Bonus. This means alot of teams will accept it because it's defensive stats are almost as good as Spectral plus Ranged Bonus and Damage Absorption.
- Void -
Some teams are 'All Void' and won't accept non-voiders due to the unbalanced magic defence ratio (the non-voider wouldn't be hit much). Regular teams will usually allow voiders to join and in some cases only accept voiders if they have Deflector and Armadyl Chestplate or better. As said before, it all depends on the team.
- Chaotic Crossbow and Rigour -
Any half decent team will require Chaotic Crossbow. Some teams will make exceptions if you have Void w/ Deflector + ACP or better. Rigour, the upgraded ranging prayer purchased for 140,000 Dungeoneering Tokens, is also required on most teams(even though there's no ingame way to prove you actually have it). Again it all depends on the team, poorer teams will have more lenient rules.
- Looting Graves( and Leechers) -
Most teams have a rule where you cannot enter the chamber after Umbra is dead. The rule usually stands for both players who want to kill Nex and for players who want to loot their graves(because when looting your graves you cannot be Melee Distance which can mess things up, also you could resume killing after looting your grave which would be leeching). Leechers are easy to spot at nex and are usually swiftly kicked by a rank. People who have died always get blessed on decent teams which should leave you plenty of time to wait for the kill to end and loot your drop.
