Lester Cohn -- Founder and Executive Producer

Capitalizing on a passion for the music industry and strong production sensibilities, Lester Cohn founded PureDV in 1998. Coming from JAMtv, where he produced over 200 live webcasts for both JAMtv and RollingStone.com, he began shooting unsigned local bands including Disturbed, Local H, Chevelle, Kill Hannah , and creating their EPKs. When local producer Johnny K (Groovemaster Recording) saw the work, he referred Lester to Maverick Records. Equally impressed, Maverick flew Lester down to Austin to create the EPK for the new band Unloco . At the same time, Maverick asked him to shoot the band Tantric ; the footage became part if the live video for Tantric 's hit "Breakdown" garnering Lester his first director's credit and MTV exposure. His follow up directorial effort, for Tantric 's "Astounded" also appeared on the MTV airwaves. After his initial successes, Lester was brought on board to do projects for Island Def Jam, Squint, Immortal, Warner Brothers, Virgin, Sony, Dreamworks as well as continuing his relationship with Maverick.

He has been associated and worked with the top Chicago bands as well as other top national acts. He is respected by those who work with him for his talent and personal demeanor. He often helps those around him and participates with local schools like Flashpoint Academy in Chicago speaking to students and using them on shoots to give them real world experience.

Lending his skills to support charity, Lester produced and directed the 5 th Waltz and worked for Rock For Kids.
