My Favorite song off "Get Happy".. terrific record, great vocal. Turn it up loud and annoy the neighbors!

Who knew the angry young man would turn into such a romantic... bravo to him though for evolving as an artist... one of the few legendary artists who doesn't wish to make the same album over and over again.

One of my favorites of "Lola"... Ray at this time, much like Paul McCartney, could pull beautiful melodies almost out of thin air.... and of course his lyrics were much better than paul's.

A simple, and brilliant song from Ray. The arrangement is terrific... as always, less is more.

I agree that Village Green should have been a double album... Ray was churning out wonderful songs like this and they got left in the studio, what a shame.

Love this song... has that wonderful old music hall feel to it. "In my little mind, I know the world must keep on turning.. even though it leaves me far behind." Ray loves characters a little out of step with the rest of society. Genius.

One of my favorite Kinks songs... hilarious and touching all at once, brilliant. I always think of this song when I am walking around and see a hideously ugly couple and wonder.. so can they possibly find each other to be attractive??? As Ray points out here, with the lights off, maybe.

A standout track from "Preservation Act 1"... Ray playing the lovable loser again, comic and sweet.

One of my favorite Kinks songs from the early 70s.. it has a great country-swing and some very tender moments too, classic. "Smile away all your sadness, and put your trust in me"

A classic Kinks song, very under appreciated. One of Ray's best melodies ever.

Love Paul as much as anyone, BUT for him to gather dozens of the best british rockers around to play these two songs.... well it at least makes you scratch your head. Sometimes i think his ego gets the better of him.

Thanks for posting... never heard this before. With all those CD reissues Elvis has done, he has never included this song on any of them. Guess he doesn't like it very much! it's kinda fun though... as fun as he gets!

It's a really good song... along with "Flying to My Home", Paul should have put them on Flowers in the Dirt instead of a couple of other lesser tracks that he included on the album. Oh well.

I'd heard about this song, but never heard it til now. Thanks for posting. It's an interesting song... just doesn't quite work. Can understand why it remained unreleased.

Interesting stuff... has a touch of that New Wave stuff that was coming out in 1978. Would have made a nice change of pace on London Town LP.

I think this is the only post-Beatles Paul song that stands up to the best things he did with the Beatles, especially this live version. I mean it's just as good as Hey Jude, Let it Be, Yesterday etc etc

Far superior to the album version. So much more tense and dramatic.... One of these days he should re-release those wings CDs with demos and live tracks added on, so many were better than the album versions.
