We are a nationalist organization that seeks to fulfill the revolutionary aspirations of the people throughout Philippine history.

Andres Bonifacio's revolution had an implicit social content thwarted by the elite and compromising politics of the likes of Emilio Aguinaldo, Pedro Paterno and Trinidad Pardo de Tavera.What resulted is a leadership co-opted by the American colonial power and totally subservient to its designs.

The nation evolved a type of governance that hews more towards an oligarchy whose legitimacy had sprung from American patronage.This has continuously led the elite leadership to sell the nation's sovereignty in order to protect its economic and political dominance.

In our day and time the elite leadership has degenerated into a "kleptocracy" or the rule of thieves.It is the duty of every patriotic Filipino to continue the aborted nationalist revolution --- a struggle for nationhood with a social agenda. PUNYAL seeks to articulate and act on this historical struggle to create and nurture a truly independent, egalitarian, just and democratic society free of kleptocratic exploitation and deceit.
