I don't think you have to remove those 1/4 inch screws. Just use the putty knife and it will flip up the console. Easier because the console stays attached and won't flop around on you.

Probably the seals have been leaking on your pump rusting it on to the shaft of the motor. It's fun removing that and require destruction of the pump. If rust has built up on the motor shaft a small file can be used to remove the rust in order to get it back to it's original shape so a new pump w...
