@Jgeneraledger23 Well, the boys were toys, kinda like the Monkees. Similarly, they took matters into their own hands and began to write on their own. I loved "Little Willy" when I was a kid. I loved their own stuff better when I was a teen.

Something else I really enjoyed in the mid-80s.

A mainstay on WAAL, Binghamton, NY. I love this song. I was stationed at Camp Casey, 2nd ID, ROK, in the mid-80s. One of the nightclubs downrange played this constantly. I found it again on vinyl a little over a year ago.

46 seconds into the song, catch George's quick smile and you get me. This song helps me get through the worst of days.

My dad died just after this song came out. A month later, my divorce was finalized. I listened to this song over and over. This song/album/band helped me through the roughest time in my life. I saw them in concert in Phoenix, opening for RHCP. I am forever grateful to Wayne Coyne and the Flaming ...

In regards to 'Beatles" and the like, George Harrison (in my opinion) was the epitome of musician and gentleman. Here was a man of wit and talent and humanity that won't be matched soon. I've been missing George for nine years now.

My daughter saw them in New Zealand. How I envy that child. I had 'Shockheaded Peter' on CD some years ago. Traded it away. Now, my local can't find it, as it's out of print. Ah, regrets.

I don't know why that's such an affecting commercial. I guess it's the fond memory of being a kid. As for me, I remember the Cracker Jack commercials from when I was a kid. This one is nearly the best. And Jack Gilford was a great character actor. Thanks for posting this, nishiot.

I had a huge crush on Karen Valentine. This was one of the shows my mom could watch. My dad ruled the house but gave mom some t.v. time.

I grew up in Northeastern Pennsylvania and this was a show my dad always watched. At that time I thought that Mike Mannix was running across a bridge in Scranton, so I thought the show was made there. I thought Joe Mannix worked in Scranton! Let's see, I was all of 6 or 7 at the time.

We didn't have cable, either. This was the best we could get and it rocked! I haven't seen that opening since 85 or so. Thanks so much for that bit of memory.

I remember this - it's great! It was played quite a bit where I grew up, in NEPA. It was played on WAAL, out of Binghamton, NY.
