Yes, the spoof of On The Buses is very cynical, but I still think it is funny and I love Paul Whitehouse's stuff. It's like his 'Arthur Atkinson' on The Fast Show, where the satire is that the 'audience' laughing at the old time music hall comedian is laughing NOT at any jokes he has, as he doesn't HAVE any, but JUST at the repitition of a few catch phrases !

Thanks, I try to keep a good mix of landmarks and underground albums. It must have been great to see those acts when they were active.

thanks for the comment back. yes, Nick drake, what a shame no one ever brought a movie camera to his show, or studio sessions. did you see him open for Fairport or at a coffee house?
ADugas661 (1 year ago)
You got to see Nick Drake live??

Could you tell me about your memories of that? I'm sure I'd cherish it, as you don't get to hear too often from people that saw him live.

Ive been meaning to get back to you for a month or more about the hole change in 70 71..Its like everybody that was psychedelic music in the 60s went country or something by 1970? Except for the newer bands at the time like zeppilen, sabbath?..I heard a lot of the 60s psycedelic fans did not like the heavier bands coming in cause it was a hole different buzz thing altogether?

Not seeing Roy Harper feels like something vital has gone from the free world, if you know what I mean. Some things are more than there sum, Roy is a flash of red against the grey. Better than anyone or band of the last 50 years.

Lovely to be sharing the memories, the Wake Arms was a great place for bands, I was so fortunate that it was just a walk away from where I lived at that time, but I still love the music from that era. Although there are some good bands around now, they don't come close to the performances we were privileged to see back in the 60/70s

40 years and just yesterday. What happened? You must have been sweet sixteen, then. I never heard of Eclection before or after IoW. Amazing how many good bands just came and went.
