I am a muslim convert, I love the choice I made and it was my choice.
I love trying to be the best servant to Allah (God).
I want to try & help others understand our religion. There are many mis-understandings about Islam. TRUE OR FALSE
For instance that all muslims are terrorist.
"FALSE"
Islam doesn't believe in any acts of violence. A person who is a terrorist is not a true Muslim!!!!
Women are forced to wear hijab. "FALSE"
Women have the right to choose to wear hijab or not, a husband cannot force one to wear it and a woman should not wear it if she wears it only for her husband. She should wear it if she is doing it for Allah (god).
Women are beneath men in Islam. "FALSE"
Women are to be equal to men, as our prophet Mohammed (PBUH) treated each of his wives equally and with respect.
(PBUH) *Peace be upon him* is to be said after mentioning a prophet. "TRUE"
It is okay for a man to marry more than one. "TRUE" But there are circumstances on this, the man must go to his wife and tell her and get permission. Also a man can only marry if he can afford to take care of more than one wife, also he must be able to treat them eqaully. If a man cannot or doesn't get permission he cannot marry another.
There are a few explanations and mis-understandings I just explained.
Insha'Allah (god willing) one day people will understand Islam and know how to seperate the truth from the false.
