Last week, notwithstanding that it's been
very interesting at the Parliament today as well,
still, that last week Mr Vinković
ruffled a lot of feathers
when he, in matters of certain events,
openly called to account
the president of the SDSS
[Independent Democratic Serbian Party] Vojislav Stanimirović
TV Bujica was the first to warn on the
hushing going on on war crimes perpetrated
against women of Vukovar,
which happened 20 years ago.

On one day came Vojislav Stanimirović,
Dokmanović and Hadžić.
The three of them came out and said:
"So what are you doing here?
This is sacred Serbian soil!
What in the world are you doing here?"
And us, we were so humiliated, completely confused,
what with that broom in my hand, really...
I wished I could just disappear
into the bowels of the Earth...
When in September last year the book
was presented by Marija Slišković
titled "Sunny", it was real shock for
the domestic public.
At the promotion of the book on the
raped women of Vukovar there was
only one TV camera. The truth
about the horrible crime spread around
quickly through all of Croatia.
"Stanimirović spat at me at the barracks.
in 1991. He's enjoying in the
Croatian Parliament even today.
I have spoken everywhere, I have
given statements everywhere,
and nobody did anything."
The wait wasn't long, and the statement came
on behalf of the man held to account, Vojislav Stanimirović:
"It is absolutely not true
and from respect towards the victims
I don't want to use the term mendacios,
that I, as is stated, together with
Hadžić and Dokmanović, entered into
Vukovar army barracks and spat upon
the women who were constrained to work there.
and asked them what they were doing on
the sacred Serbian soil."
He can't say that he wasn't in Vukovar.
He is a war criminal for me!
Ms Erdelji repeated her accusations against
Stanimirović two weeks ago
at the State Prosecution Office and expressed
readiness to confront with the person who she claims
vilified her in the courtyard of
Vukovar army barracks.
Hadžić is in prison, I mean, they were together,
Hadžić, Dokmanović and Stanimirović.
I mean, how can that be? In Croatia?
We look like... I don't know how to say that... And he's enjoying.
I have a pension of 1,700 kn (230 €) and he
relishes and enjoys himself in Croatia.
From the first public appearance of Ružica Erdelji
to the actual reaction of State Prosecution Office
there passed four entire months.
In the meantime, the representatives of the
raped women were received by the
Norvegian Embassy in Croatia, and thanks to
the Minister of Homeland War Veterans
Predrag Matić Fred, the President of Croatia,
dr. Ivo Josipović.
I am not afraid to stand before him or before
anyone else, I speak the truth,
Who is he, that he may judge me,
that he may spit on me?
I am a proud Vukovarian, I was born here,
this is my hometown.
I don't know where he came to
Vukovar from, and I'd really like
to know that! And he to judge me?!
Although matters are all obvious and the
accusations of the victim very concrete,
the State Prosecution of Croatia is
indiscribably benign towards Vojislav Stanimirović.
Completely opposite to the treatment of
Stanimirović, towards the Lika [region in Croatia]
resident Joso Mraović, they weren't so circumspect,
let us not even consider the cases of Vice Vukojević [both Mraović
and Vukojević are Croats], or Dominic Strauss Khan.
Because of the unjust treatment of the victim
and the perks Stanimirović the suspect still enjoys
in the Croatian Parliament, more than vehement
was the reaction of the HDSSB's MP,
the mayor of Đakovo, Zoran Vinković.
After the outcry of his,
everyone in the House noticed how the Premier
evidently felt quite uneasy
about having in the governing coalition
a man whom the poor woman from Vukovar
charges for mistreatment, abetting rape and
monstrous war crime.
