Underlying problem:
Because society has negative views concerning the potential abilities of the blind, In what ways might I raise the awareness about the capabilities of students with disabilities so that sighted people have a more positive understanding of the nature of blindness in 2009 in the Orange Community and beyond?

It all started with a goal: The goal to not be seen as "different"or as "the blind guy" within my community.
The write-up of Project Role model began in around October - and focused on embracing all of my current (and future) accomplishments which helped solve this underlying problem. I used the problem solving steps in resolving my concern, and making connections along the way.
Please watch the intro/competition video for more information and accomplishments.

Project Role Model was presented at the 2009 Ohio state competitions and received first place in the state Individual CMPS (Community Problem Solving), Individual/senior division. During the International Bowl, great interest was shown towards the project - far beyond my expectations. Project Role Model recieved second place at this event -- and I am truly thankful for those who hosted the international bowl, helped us setup and get "settled", and the numerous others who showed such great interest in the project. Although in my mind everyone is equal, my mother, coach MRS. Frazier, student helper MRS. Gaspar, and our school's superintendant have played major major roles in accomplishing my goals. :)
