The Floyd Shining
The Floyd Shining is my attempt to synchronize various Pink Floyd albums and songs with Stanley Kubrick's 1980 film "The Shining". No attempt has been made to alter either the movie or the songs, except what little editing is necessary to split the video into 13 parts. I have tried to maintain the songs I used in album order, but because the movie is over 2 hours long, I decided towards the end to use longer songs on their own rather than trying to fit in a whole other album (I don't think anybody wants to listen to 5 minutes of silence if the last album would be just short of the end).
The only deliberate sync is at the beginning, by starting "One of These Days" as soon as the WB logo fades to black. Any other perceived syncs are purely coincidental (it's a phenomenon known as "synchronicity"). All of the songs play one after another with no pauses in between songs.
The Lamb Lies Down on The Wall
The Lamb Lies Down on The Wall is my attempt to synchronize Genesis' famous 1974 concept album "The Lamb Lies Down on Broadway" with the classic 1982 musical film "Pink Floyd The Wall". Both of these projects caused severe tension between the main creators of these works (Peter Gabriel and Roger Waters) and the rest of their respective bands (Genesis and Pink Floyd), leading to both of them eventually breaking up with their musical groups and pursuing solo projects. However, in addition to the flared passions over these two works, both the album and the film share one thing in common: both tell a story about a main protagonist that delves into the deepest recesses of his mind in order to discover himself. By intertwining the audio and visuals of perhaps some of the greatest epic progressive rock masterpieces the world has seen yet, I hope that you, the viewer, can have a totally unforgettable experience. So sit back, relax, and enjoy as our two protagonists, Rael and Pink, share their journey with you.
No attempt has been made to alter either the movie or the songs, except what little editing is necessary to split the video into 8 parts. The parts are split according to the song order of the album, not the song order of the movie, although I have included which songs in the movie are in each part in the descriptions. The songs are in album order, using the original song lengths from the LP. All of the songs play one after another with no pauses in between songs. The only deliberate sync is at the beginning, by starting both the album and the movie at the exact same time. Any other perceived syncs are purely coincidental (it's a phenomenon known as "synchronicity").
Thanks for watching! Please rate, comment, share, etc. Also, please comment if you see any cool syncs! I've found several, but I'm not talking.
(Note: I do not own any of the rights to these songs or this film. These videos are strictly for entertainment purposes only. This synchronization is in no way associated or affiliated with any other synchronizations, such as Floyd Reich, Alice on the Wall, 2001: A Floyd Odyssey, or Dark Side of the Rainbow.)
