The most recent research on the Lithuanian Holocaust shows iron clad proof that the Einsatzgruppen3 did not have much to do with the slaughter of 200,000 Jews. Most of the killing was by Lithuanian partisans, police and para military units. Less than 0.5% of Jews in Lithuania were offered rescue by non Jews. The diary of Einsatzgruppen3 leader Standarten Fuhrer Karl Jager ( hanged by the Russians),said "all we had to do was sit back and watch". Before the German army even entered Lithuania, 8000 Jews had been murdered by local partisans and farmers.
