@NWOWWE I appreciate you postinig this song by the fantastic Four Tops. I have been searching for one of their old recordings from their 1964 Four Tops"First Album", ttitled, "Don't Turn Away From Me". Can't imagine this song being totally lost, since every tune on that album was so great.

Amazing! Just Amazing background and harmony! Fact is; Marvin arranged and sang the background on a lot of his recordings.

The side that I enjoyed most on the 'Live It Up!" album. Dig the heck out of that constant "Drivin" rhythm. The Isleys set a standard, and continued; album after album.

Harold Melvin took a step back, to let Teddy Pendergrass be featured; but he was a great tenor in his own rite, as one can hear on this song, and several other recordings done by the Bluenotes.

@vidform: Agreed! Luther Simmons and Anthony Sylvester have some of the best two part harmony in the music business!

Both, the Stevie Wonder originals, and the renditions covered by the Main Ingredients can be greatly appreciated. You had to really be into The Manhattans remember this tune.Brings back memories of a young beautiful Yvonne "Candy" Craig, back in the day. Good Times.

This is one of the best all time. Back in 1986, The Manhattans, with Gerald Alston, did an acapella version on WBLS one night on Vaughn Harper. They did a great job, especially doing it "on the cuff".

Like the play between the voices of Bobby and Phillipe on this hit. The Spinners were a versatile and talented group.

This tune is done in the true Philly Soul Sound flavor! Nothing like those 70's! I'm grateful to have lived and heard these songs in their heyday.

A great Roller Rockin' tune back in the days! Makes me want to break out the ol' 4 wheelers and "get on down"!

I use to pass these Coke Ovens on the Western Trolley on our ways to Uniontown, coming from Edenborn, about 7-10 miles away. Fond childhood memories. My Grandfather mined the Bituminous coal used for Coke, as he worked for the Frick Co. until he retired in 1951.

One my favorite Impressions cuts! Gotta play it twice.

Bought this album after looking at the cover back in '70. Hadn't heard a tune until I got it home and spun it in my Garrard turntable. What drive; what Funk!

@groundhog713 always amazed at how the two, Marvin and Teddy sounded so identical. I know T.P. was a drummer and not a singer, until Harold Melvin gave him a start at tenor with the Bluenotes. Marvin Junior had been singing long before that occurred.

This song should have been a hit on its own back in the day! We loved dancin' to it, as well as listening.

Many of the Motown artist sang backup on various recordings. This was recorded before the Tempts had made a "break out" Hit. Check out "Baby Don't Do It", by Marvin Gaye also. Tell me that's not The Supremes singing background.
