In 1973, w/ a world population of less than 4 billion, 1.5 billion viewers via satellite as far off as S. E Asia tuned in to watch Elvis and Elvis alone.
On the US Billboard charts he posted the # 1 song of the year 3 times including 2 in a row.
He received 4 Triple Crown awards for singles hitting # 1 on Pop, Country and R&B charts.
His 18 US Pop # 1 singles spent a combined total of 80 weeks at the top including 16 weeks in a row.
He posted 29 straight top 5 singles, 30 straight top 10 singles and 10 straight # 1 singles.
Many question his record of 10 consecutive # 1 singles, however the only reason the charts show other songs not reaching the top in between the 10 # 1s in question is because Elvis' B sides also charted as well as songs off of Extended play releases but that was based on the times, Elvis actually posted 10 consecutive A side
# 1 45' Pop singles on the US Pop charts.

Just for clarification for those who assume Elvis stole black music...
James Brown said of Elvis "Elvis and I are the only 2 American originals, there will never be another like that Soul Brother"
Jackie Wilson said "Many accuse Elvis of stealing the black man's music when in fact most black solo entertainers copied their stage mannerisms from Elvis"
Sammy Davis Jr. said "On a scale from one to ten I'd rate Elvis an eleven"
B.B. King said "Elvis was a tremendous talent, his phraseology his way of looking at a song was unique, had he lived there would have been no end to his inventiveness"

Muhammad Ali
(One of Elvis best friends) was and always will be "The Greatest" in his prime ,and even some what past it, he could have beaten any other Heavyweight in history.
Ali defeated many fighters that today still make all time top 10 and top 25 list such as Sonny Liston, Floyd Patterson Joe Frazier, Kenny Norton, George Foreman and Ernie Shavers.
He was the first to win the Heavyweight title 3 times and did it in a era where their was a limited amount of recognized Boxing Federations.
His19 title defenses, are 3rd best but his first 9 were halted by the US government and his next 10 came from ages 33-35
Richard Pryor was the funniest and most talented comedian ever and paved the way for generations of future African American comedians.
The Beatles were the most talented band ever and their record sales of 1 billion + and 19 US # 1 albums speaks to their impact.
Frank Sinatra is the best old school Pop singer.
His phrasing and interpretive abilities are timeless.
Hank Williams Sr. was the most influential and best Country artist ever. He was singing and composing Country music classics before we knew what they were and took the genre to the mainstream.
The 70s Pittsburgh Steelers were the best team ever, 4 Super Bowl titles in 6 years and Back to Back titles twice, 10 Hall of Fame inductees, 22 players w/ 4 rings. Also I'm a fan of all of the 6 time SB Champion Steelers History and other Pittsburgh sports teams, The 3 time Champ Penguins and 5 time Champ Pirates.
