The US was given a republic (rule of law) not a democracy (mob rule) by our Founders. This is the form of gov that made the USA an exceptional country, tho we now see it being destroyed by our greedy gov. Gov has no money unless it steals it from the people. It is up to the people to see that we elect those who vote for our rights under the US Constitution. There are 25 members of congress in who honor their Oath of Office...out of 535 people in the 112th Congress. NOT MANY...so it is the people's fault for not paying attention; not knowing who they vote for. You cannot protect what you don't know. Read the Declaration of Independence, US Constitution and Bill of Rights (both are very profound and short). Read the Federalist Papers to understand why the Founders wrote what they did. Read Bastiat's essay, The Law (free download available on the internet). Read George Washington's Farewell Address (also on the 'net). Knowledge is power. Get started please, before you vote again, so you can make correct choices. Each public official takes an Oath of Office that says: "I, [member's name], do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; that I take this obligation freely, without any mental reservation or purpose of evasion; and that I will well and faithfully discharge the duties of the office on which I am about to enter: So help me God." An Oath is one's honor. Ones word is one's honor. Congressmembers are NOT saying "some of the time I will obey the law UNLESS some lobbyist gives me money to vote in some other manner." Yet we only have 26 members of congress who are honorable 100% of the time so far in 2011. In fact, that is a record number of congressmembers on your side in congress as many have been lifting their leg on law and laughing at the people now for years...but we have had Ron Paul, gving speeches and teaching those in congress that what they do is incorrect. We cannot have a citizenry of virtuous and good people if our government pissing on constitutional law, therefore on us whom they give their Oath to...We are the people who allow them to govern by our say so and our Constitution. AS IT IS WRITTEN. Any thing less and we are slaves...
But we have Ron Paul. He has kept his word 100% of the time by adhereing to the constitutional principle of limited government, fiscal responsibility, national sovereignty, individual liberty, and a traditional foreign policy of avoiding foreign entanglements.
