pits get a lot of bad press, but when serious shit like this goes down, it seems like it's always a pit or some other "bad" breed comes to the rescue. They're a great breed that will lay their life on the line for you. Don't expect it from your pomeranian.

go to a local humane society or animal shelter. Lots of pitts are up for adoption. It's so sad; most of the reason why is because of the negative stereotype this breed has and irresponsible owners. Hope you'll be a good one. This type of dog will lay down and die for you.

@pherrnst I agree completely. The dialogue that wasn't included shows that margaret had full knowledge of her current situation and it actually makes me more sympathetic for her actions. I wish they had at least left this in the finalized movie!!
