I enjoy filming and editing dance very much, although I think it is one of the more difficult things to film. A german cameraman once told me the most difficult things to film are: Kinder, Tiere, Fluessigkeiten. (Kids, animals, liquids) because they never do what they should. I would add dancers, because they never to anything the same way. so, if you are filming with just one camera, it is difficult to capture a whole piece and still have interesting close ups. usually the closeups you do in one runthrough don't match the wider shots you did in another runthrough. so - you either have a good budget and you can film with multiple cameras, which dance almost never does, or you have to cheat...
