"Almost Famous!" is the chant that Point5 often times screams to his audiences at show. Although this statement seems like one of poise and style there is really something more to it... "I'm almost Famous, but that's all that I'll ever be. I serve Christ, and only he is truly famous!" says Point5 as he emphasises that much like his debut album, he is simply the OPENING ACT.

Growing up on the east side of St. Louis, Point5 found that the hip hop community had a direct influence on his life. Throughout his upbringing, Point5 was determined to succeed in life,he was very involved, made excellent grades, and was a role model to his peers. Although it seemed like this young man had it all together, Point5 claims differently." The things that I saw in music videos and heard on the radio shaped my idea of success. I was determined to get those things."
After graduating highschool, Point5 joined the United States Air Force. His primary focus was on the things hip hop music often showcased. Drugs, girls, and money. " I had a phat check coming in from the military, plus I was helping my roomate sell drugs. I had the flyest ride in town, and all the girls I could imagine. You would've thought life was good." After acheiving what he thought was success, life seemed to get even better as Point5 signed a record contract with Sandstorm records, an indy mixtape label in Abilene, TX. Now Point5 had all of the money, girls, and fancy rides that he had always dreamed of getting in his younger years. However Point5 came to realize that with this success, he found nothing more than depression, loneliness, and failure. " I felt like I was lying to everyone. I lied in my music, I lied to my friends, I lied to girls, My life was a living lie." Point5 then decided that perhaps church was the answer.
Point5 visited a church on day and came to realize that he needed to escape the lifestyle that he had been living. He prayed to the Lord and asked that he would be delivered from his situation. The next day, Point5 learned about an opportunity to transfer to the Air National Guard and return home. In just a few short months, Point5 was back in St. Louis and trying to clean up his lifestyle, yet failing time and time again. "Pride was my biggest enemy. I kept telling myself I could do it on my own, but what I was missing in life was a partnership with Jesus." One day Point5 found himself pondered when Apostle Charles Townes approached him and asked him one question, "So I hear your a man of God?" Point5 was stunned and for the first time ever he came to a point of dispair. " I felt like if I said 'yes' I was lying, but if I said' no' I was denying God. I was not prepared to answer that question." It was at that moment that Point5 decided to serve Christ with everything that he had. "My response was 'yes sir, I am.' That was the beginning of my walk." As soon as the meeting was over Point5 went to his car and confessed Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior.
Point5 thought that he would never rap again but just two days later God gave him the message which became the song, "Stand." Thus the Almost Famous, Opening Act was born. Point5 has traveled all over the U.S. delivering the Gospel of Jesus Christ in word and in Song. All Glory to God....because..."I'm Almost Famous"
