About this user

Born in İzmir in 1984. He started his music career singing in various children's choirs including Hikmet Şimşek childrens choirs, at very early ages. In 1995, he was accepted to İzmir Dokuz Eylül University State Conservatory Viola Department and worked with Zeliha Özel, a performer from İzmir State Symphony Orchestra, till 2002. During this timeframe, he performed at several concerts with Z. Özels class and D.E.U. Conservatory Orchestra. In 2003-2004, he worked on Opera and Singing with his Opera Singer mother, Gökçen Gültek, and with Aydın Uştuk. In June 2004, he was accepted to Ankara Hacettepe University State Conservatory Opera Art Department Singing Section and studied with Prof. Mustafa Yurdakul as his instructor. In September 2007, he actively participated in Antonio Marceno Singing and Interpretation course and received a certificate. In summer 2007, he was found successful at Ars Nova Opera Community selections and acted as Paris in the very first Turkey performance of Paris and Helena opera by C.W.Gluck. In preparing for this role, he worked with Opera Singer Banu Schult and Director Till Schult on singing, stage and mimics.In April 2008 , he actively participated in Prof. H.Helge Dorsch Master Course and received a certificate. Also in April 2008 , he won 2. prize of 2008 National Young Voice Competition. Same month, he became youngest finalist at the 1. National Young Soloists Competition and received honor certificate. In Beetween 27 July 9 August , in Salzburg-Austria he actively participated in Mozarteum Music Academy Masterclass and study with Prof. Tom Krause. In February 2009 , he actively participated in Prof. Ewa Czermak Master Course and received a certificate. In March 2009 , on a Turkish Naval Forces organization , he performed as a soloist on V.Adıgüzels Oratorio 18 Mart Çanakkale on Presidential Symphony Orchestra Stage. In Between 27-30 March 2009 in Wroclaw- Poland he won Grand Prix and also other 4 special prizes of 5. International Halina Halska-Fijalkowska Voice Competition and invited to Wroclaw Opera.1 day after , in between 1-4 April 2009 , he won 1. Prize of National Young Opera Artist Competition. In between 18-22 April, he won 2. Prize and jury special prize of 2. National Young Soloists Competition and invited to Opera Studio Nederland. In August 2009 , he actively participated in Koszecin- Poland Silesian Summer Vocal School and recieved a certificate In 2010 invited for jubileum project of Opera Studio Nederland Monteverdi's Orfeo, and played as "Pastore" in Amsterdam, Regie by Pierre Audi. In 2010 Bora Balcı graduated a year early because of his success, he continues working with Opera Studio Nederland.
