The reality is that the Scots are 'sovereign' of their land, not the crown or the parliament, you've no concept of Scots Law or Scottish constitutional set up at all.
In England, the English are 'Subjects' in their own nation, unlike the Scots who are 'Sovereign' in theirs.
English sovereignty lies within the English parliament (a non-entity since 1707), hence why Westminster (unionist institution) will not grant the English a referendum on reconvening the English parliament, as it would be handing back the English their sovereignty and practically end the union over night.
