@DFILL450 Very true. But I heard once that the boom mic operators are told to back off by the director whenever wrestlers are face to face in a corner, or on the ground together ("hurt" or recovering) cuz that's when they do the majority of their talking to each other.

For as great as this match ended up being, the build up to the match was equally as good. Sean played the God-Guy just perfectly. Talk about 2 of the best storytellers in the business bringing their "A" games, huh? Wow.

It ain't often that the main guys get one good theme after another, but Rock sure does. This variation lit my ass on fire when he returned to Raw last year. I still watch that promo once a week just to make me smile. Some of us still stupidly believe and hold on that moments like this can happen ...

He did wrestle very briefly in both the WWF and WCW, but he had a pretty nice run in Calgary's Stampede Wrestling (as "Stunning" Steve DiSalvo) for about a year. He was over as a pretty big heel there. But he wasn't even half the size he was in this match. Yikes!

Man, I miss squash matches. Such a sure-fire way to get people over. Rather than doing what WWE does and having the same 10 guys beat each other week after week after week to the point where no one gets over strong anymore.

It's a good thing Sharpe wasn't a main-eventer and his matches only lasted 3 minutes. Any longer and he woulda lost his voice.

It's crazy how good Gilbert was. He coulda had a job in wrestling till he was 70 years old. Would have been a great heel manager a la Bobby the Brain Heenan.
