Grassroots Playscapes

A playscape encompasses an entire outdoor space through a diversity of play events and settings. Applying nature as a medium, a child can walk into any settings based on their choice of activity.

The design process takes two weeks to complete and the building phase can last up to a month including several volunteer weekends. Typically, a playscape is patterned after the preexisting outdoor facility. We are not interested in starting from scratch, but instead preserving those elements of a playground that are of value and arranging them into a more functional context.
