The version of Casals here is one of a kind to me. It sounds that people suffer alot and pray for the help from God. It is so strong to make the pray not simply a pray but more like an eager ask.

Yo-Yo's here is totally different. It's simply a pray and some tender talk to God. It's anotehr style...

I would expect somewhat clearer and brighter intonation for C major concerto.

great version of this concerto. The music is just adequat, not more nor less, not beneath nor over. Best matched: together with a cup of wine in the night.

@parukutty2 How do you want to compare, frankly speaking? Shafran is of my taste, and that is all what I can say.

The common mistake for us is that we don't check it out at first if we are qualified to give any comment to any performance of these masters. Even though we can say that we have been taught in other way, just think about if our teachers/couches are able to justify the performances.

@AlfonsoandLuisa It's no wonder to me in any case. Saying, ten of the hundred youtubers may be qualified to comment the performances of other cellists. I am not sure if there's one from thousand youtubers qualified to comment this performance of Casals.

@sijas i guess it's because that this concerto itself got too many different transcriptions. Almost everyone got one's point to it and yours is just different from hers.
