About this user
I am an avid transhumanist/futurist/technophile. I love science, Japan (along with much of East Asia, such as China, South Korea, and Taiwan), Star Trek (especially Voyager), and The Borg. I also love reading books by Arthur C. Clarke, my favorite author. My favorite videogames are the Mega Man series (especially Mega Man Legends 1 & 2), the Civilization series, and the Final Fantasy series. I hate tobacco, alcohol, hypocrites, conservative politics, disorganization, and stupid close-minded non-skeptical people. My theological status is agnostic because I think it is very difficult to empirically prove the existence of God (since only it could do so) and impossible to empirically prove that God does not exist. Because of this, I have very little tolerance for religious intolerance and those who would impose their religion on others. My political interests include Technocracy and Communism (Democracy is the best government if all its citizens are equally intelligent, motivated, moral, and...equal), as I am an extreme leftist. I vote along Democratic Party lines since it is the most popular political party that matches many of my ideals (I am against the death penalty, but I am also against abortion). Philosophically speaking, I am an empirical pragmatic logical positivistic secular humanist freethinker. I do not eat mammals in any way, shape, or form and I intend to one day become a complete vegetarian, which I think everyone should be. I am very environmentally minded and I have OCD, so I am very organized and thorough.
Interests
I enjoy science and science fiction (books, shows, movies, videogames, discussions/debates, etc.). I also enjoy traveling, whether it means going to a new country, a new state, a new town, or even a new street...I just like to experience new things. Academically, I am interested in cognitive neuroscience, biological basis of memory/learning, and neuroengineering. My overall interests is in understanding human cognition and discovering/implementing methods of enhancing it.
