About Me:
 
John Wesley Tumbri has over 40 years of experience entertaining live audiences with a blend of many styles of music taken from the American Songbook. In the mid 60's, John played in the Youngstown, Ohio rock band, The Shillings, who shared the stage with artists such as The Kingsmen, The Rascals, Shades of Blue and Mitch Ryder and Detroit Wheels. In the late 70's-early 80's, he was a key member of The Jeffrey Johns Band, who scored a regional hit with the song "Disco Sucks", which led to appearances with Atlanta Rhythm Section, 38 Special and Dr. Hook.
The mid 80's and 90's, took him in the blues direction with bands like Sacksville, Chasin' the Blues, Northeast and The Blind Robins. John began performing exclusively as a solo act in the late 90's, using skills honed at Stefan Grossman's famed Blues Guitar Workshop.
He moved to Savannah in 2000, playing hundreds of gigs at venues on the river and nearby islands, and developing his unique style and repertoire.
John is back home in Ohio again, sharing his music and stories with appreciative audiences and looks forward to seeing you somewhere down the road.
