I'm Vietnamese (parents from Saigon) and we have never ever eaten rats/dogs/cats/worms/and bugs before.
I think its just a very very rare taboo type of food FEW Vietnamese eat. In and around Saigon, you most likely won't see people eating that stuff lol. Instead the typical stuff we eat are ***lemongrass chicken , curry chicken, basil stir fried chicken, grilled chicken, skewered chicken, steamed/stir fried/baked red snapper fish, king fish, tilapia, crabs, milkfish, shark, cod , curry beef brisket, oxtail stew, or curry oxtail soup (curry beef brisket can have French Bread for dipping) pork, r/>sometimes pho soups, lots and lots of veggies/fruits like= melons, squash, okra, bok choy, bitter melon, spinach... mangos, coconuts, bananas, plantains, star fruit, soursop, durian, jackfruit, lychee, sugarcane, yams, cassava, taro, edo, sweet potato, etc etc EATEN MOSTLY WITH STICKY WHITE RICE OF COURSE HEHE. Except for the soups and pho's/noodles |
