this whole thing about that guy stepping down reminds me a lot of Sakaguchi. When Square was young, that guy took its remaining $s and invested it into making Final Fantasy, the game's name being a pun that it could potentially be the company's final game. Much later, Square made a Final Fantasy movie that failed so hard it killed the company financially and Sakaguchi took the blame for it, sidelining his position in the company and since then Square hasn't been able to make a good Final Fantasy game.
