Battle Hymn of the Republic McCluer High School 1972
In 1972, McCluer High School in Florissant Missouri, under the direction of B.C. Bundy, recorded an album titled "Music of the American Civil War"....
@FavoriteTunes2009 ---We could have bumped into each other 100 times in the hall, and never known it with as many kids as we had there in '72. My daughter's school is about half the size of McCluer. She has no concept of a high school that big! I was supposed to graduate in '71, but lacked Americ...

Battle Hymn of the Republic McCluer High School 1972
In 1972, McCluer High School in Florissant Missouri, under the direction of B.C. Bundy, recorded an album titled "Music of the American Civil War"....
Bundy is the only reason I'm still singing professionally today, as well as my brother who graduated from Ferguson HS in '62. I had B.C. from fall '68 through June '71, every performance, and three musicals. I graduated in '72, returning that year from a tour with my brother's band. I was not in ...

@x0SKYSM0x I'm still a musician, and I agree! I've played it all in 40 + years, and now I'm a jazz player. Not too many of us left! Can't do the crap they listen today, and old time rock bands are everywhere. I love Dire Straits though.

We "inherited" a 2 yr. old female" King" who landed in our yard in '05...She's been with us ever since. She was bred in Albuquerque, NM. We found out by a numbered band on her leg Her breeder did not respond to our enquiries. We have no idea how she wound up in WI but she's part of the family now...

Mason Profit was playing at Florissant Valley Community College the night the Vietnam war ended. I broadcast it live from KCFV....I think you could hear our station for about 5 miles, but WHAT AN END FOR THE CONCERT! They played this song for 25 minutes to mark the end of the dumb-ass war!

Albums:
1972 ...From Down Home in Tyler, Texas USA
1972 Gladstone
1973 Lookin' For a Smile
This song was the real beginnings of my social awareness, my first year of college at Mizzou..It became social wariness once I started paying attention to the hypocrisy in this country. I loved the song, cherish the memories, and after searching for years, I found it HERE! Thanks!

Tom Petty - Learning To Fly
Music video by Tom Petty performing Learning To Fly. (C) 1991 UMG Recordings, Inc.
None of you who have commented apparently are in the music business in any capacity. You have no idea what it takes to do what ANY of the musicians you have mentioned do. I've been a professional musician for 37 years. No stardom, no fame, no great fortune. I've been a studio player, and bar sin...

@DrunkenGirlfriend --It was 1968, you'd have to have been there! Mel Tilis wrote it about Korean vets, but it turned out about Vietnam vets when Rogers did it. Like I said, you'd have to have been there.
