We had 40 of the Downunder here in Australia. Followed by PD4107's, MC7-9's and Eagle 05's Eagle 10's. All a roaring success.

Don't forget we had 54 MCI's down here in Australia for Ansett Pioneer. 10 MC7's, 29 MC8's, 15 MC9's plus GMC PD 4106's 4107's & Eagle 05's & 10's. Best on Aussie roads (plus Aussie built Dennings and Australs. All YANK Powered Of Course!!

@moderndisco p.s. There were 15MC9's. The last Nth American coaches for Australia for Ansett Pioneer. Greyhound Australia had 8v71 powered Eagle 05's with 4 or 5spd manual transmissions. Later 6v92T Eagle 10's were bought with Allison Autos. OK for highway running but not for snow country

The PD4106 was a great success down here in Australia 1962-1985. Followed by PD 4107's. Brings back memories of Ansett Pioneer's workshops around Australia.

Nice concept but wrong coach!!! Should be an MCI!!! If they won't use MCI, then why not run the service with Bedford SB's. This coach looks like one. Not a Greyhound.

A REAL Greyhound Coach is an MCI. Nothing Else. NO Overhang, Huge Luggage Bin Space and High Capacity Carrier Climate Control. If the company was fair dinkum they would bring MCI's to the UK. Like Eagles were built for Europe operation under Trailways.

The 8V71 with 5spd Fuller is quite a combination. Better spaced gearing than with the 4speed Dana. Denning here downunder in Oz used this combination. Ansett Pioneer had MC9's with 6V92T and the 5spd Fuller. Their MC7's and MC8's had the 8V71 4spd Dana. Bulletproof but too much gap between ratios.
