PINK SLIP was a weekly experimental cabaret and variety show featuring live singing, dancing, drag, burlesque, queer theatre, performance art, and good old-fashioned self-indulgent hedonism. Voted one of San Francisco's Top Parties by SF Weekly, it ran every Tuesday at Midnight at The Stud Bar in San Francisco (399 9th St @ Harrison in the South-of-Market district) from August 19, 2008 to June 23, 2009.
Produced and MC'ed by Virginia Suicide, PINK SLIP regularly showcased the fearsome and fabulous talents of Honey Mahogany, Veronica Fake, Dottie Lux, Artist Malcolm Drake, Suppositori Spelling, Pippi Lovestocking, and many other prominent nightlife entertainers, performance artists, and self-proclaimed freaks.
It is remembered as a place where people from many different communities could meet, play together, get inspired, get drunk, and make art.
"A very entertaining night." - Crystal Akins, SF Weekly
"A fun event which is well worth your while" - Don Baird, Bay Times
