Muhammad Ali vs Zora Folley HD

    Muhammad Ali vs Zora Folley

    pilates68 pilates68 commented:

@KeitaThe1 Styles make fights. Frazier was the wrong guy to show off Ali's scientific style of boxing. Liston, however, was perfectly limited and slow to make Ali look amaizing. Even in the 60's Frazier would have given him trouble. He was an aggressive slugger who had a great chin and always wel...

There have been dozens of books and documentaries romanticizing punk (especially the early days) its now as prententious as the, so called, overblown stadium rock it sought to counter. Everyone talks about the "scene" but not so much the music. I suspect it's because it was crap.

    No Reservations

    New York Outer Boroughs

    Part 2 of 3

    pilates68 pilates68 commented:

Bourdain should stick to food. He rather un-ironically, fails to realize that in the kids in the 70's, who left their vanilla suburbs to hang out in the city and listen to the NY Dolls and The Ramones, etc were precisely the same kind of hipsters then, that he complains are forever altering his ...

    Muhammad Ali Beats Ken Norton

    Muhammad Ali Beats Ken Norton

    pilates68 pilates68 commented:

Ali struggled so much with Norton. He was such an awkward fighter who gave a lot of guys like Holmes (who had a similar style to Ali) trouble. Norton was very good in so many areas, defense, punching power, boxing skill, but he was never great in any one of those areas. It explains why he only br...

    Ali vs Floyd Patterson II

Ali again masters one of the fastest heavyweights of all-time Floyd Patterson.

    pilates68 pilates68 commented:

@Richdanahuff Listen, l always liked Patterson. How could you not? He would been a great middleweight D'Amatto trained him to have a very rugged offense in order to take advantage of his good hand speed (2nd perhaps only to Ali in that era) but he always seemed...well, fragile when it came to de...

@Quidtucenam Fair enough, there were a few guys like John Henry Lewis that he faced in his prime. George Foreman-Rated @ #8

    "Big" George Foreman

    pilates68 pilates68 commented:

Larry Holmes makes a good point, but comprehensive ranking of boxers has to take into account all styles. If we sub-catagorize, as we probably should, Foreman is pretty high up above guys like Liston, Shavers, Weaver, Cooney, Ruddock etc.

Styles make fights. Patterson had the right kind of style to make Clay/Ali have to work for a victory, and the right style to make things easy for Sonny Liston. The same is true for Liston, Ali/Clay was the wrong fighter for his one dimensional style.

    Earnie Shavers Highlight

Made a long time ago, not a great video by any stretch, made for practice. See the hardest puncher of all time just destroy fools.

    pilates68 pilates68 commented:

@MultiGreat1 Still disagree!!! Foreman's physical size and strength were to great for anyone to try to stand and trade. Frazier tried it twice. Shavers was a brutal power puncher but his size was comparable to other heavyweights of the day and guys like Quarry, Lyle, and Cobb survived trading sho...

    Floyd Patterson Knockouts

I did not make this video, i just uploaded it again since i couldnt find the original

    pilates68 pilates68 commented:

Funny how Floyd Patterson really fought like a miniature Joe Frazier. Probably due to his Cus D'Amotto training, bob and weave hooks and uppercuts, hand speed etc. The style reached it's peak in the controlled power and speed of Tyson. Funny how Floyd Patterson's name is not usually mentioned wit...

Its a shame that, during these box set interviews, no one in the band mentioned Hairless Heart.
