Hey Bruce, I don't recall any fiddlin' between classes at Tam. Were there closet violin lessons back then, or is this a recent hobby?

jomcg50, thanks for posting this. It's interesting to hear a live version of a Kenny tune. He plays this one almost note-for-note like his recorded version showing that some of his tunes didn't include much (if any) improvisation.

It's got a beautiful tone...nice pickin, too.

You bet--who wouldn't be? What a prize Kenny was. "Play it, Kenny" and Kenny plays, and out of his fiddle comes sublime, perfect music. Bill takes no break--why risk spoiling such beauty...

C'mon, a very brief exposure to asbestos is not going to cause cancer. If the guy did this every work-day for 35 years and he was a smoker, maybe. It's mesothelioma.

No matter how many time you listen to a Kenny Baker tune, you will always hear something you didn't hear before; so much beautiful and fine detail in his playing, and all of it unlike any other fiddler. RIP, Kenny. You were the Grappelli of bluegrass/oldtime fiddling---a genius and unequaled.

Thanks for posting this--I was looking for a vid with enough audio clarity to hear how this tune goes and this is it!

No way is the wind 110mph, not even close. If it were, there would be spray everywhere, blowing the tops of the waves into the air, and blowing the bow waves into massive spray. There is actually very little spray anywhere. Perhaps there was that much wind at some point, but not in this vid.

It's tabbed in his banjo instruction book. They used to all tune ~1/2 step sharp for a brighter sound.

The video seems to show, in fat cells, three glucoses being converted to glycerol to provide the backbone of a single triacyglycerol molecule. Actually glycerol is formed from 1/2 of a glucose, a 3-carbon chunk.
