@superality You're right - but this performance surprised me. I thought it was quite good. Respighi wanted the score to evoke a triumphant procession along the Appian Way toward the Imperial Capital. You can't have enough brass for something like that.

I just wasted $18 watching mainly TV actors destroy this musical along with the NY Phil. Raul Esparza is the Bobby for all time, and this cast and orchestration is perfect.
