I felt like I needed to practice some new miking and mixing techniques. I've also been listening to the Black Keys record, Brothers, a lot, and I love the sounds they're able to get. So for this video, I tried to get into some nitty gritty details of groove and production to practice my time, mixing, and general music-making skillllzzz. I hope you enjoy the grooves. It was fun making a non-song but still music ish kind of video.

"The Grand Rapids LipDub Video was filmed May 22nd, with 5,000 people, and involved a major shutdown of downtown Grand Rapids, which was filled with marching bands, parades, weddings, motorcades, bridges on fire, and helicopter take offs. It is the largest and longest LipDub video, to date.
This video was created as an official response to the Newsweek article calling Grand Rapids a "dying city." We disagreed strongly, and wanted to create a video that encompasses the passion and energy we all feel is growing exponentially, in this great city. We felt Don McLean's "American Pie," a song about death, was in the end, triumphant and filled to the brim with life and hope." - Rob Bliss, Director & Executive Producer
*Note: The "NEW WORLD RECORD" designation refers to size and scope, not duration. Storyboards and concept art by Greg Oberle.

A Song A Day in December Song #31 -- Celluloid
Thank you for watching. Please share and get others to watch and enjoy this little project. Liner Notes:
Song 31. It's finally over, and I'm not sure if I could have ended it more appropriately. I've been dreading wrapping this up for some reason. Maybe I've had more fun than I thought. Maybe I'm afraid of returning to my old non-productive self. I'll do my best to not let that happen. Even though I got lazy at the end, I think this has still been a great experience. I created much better material overall than I thought possible.
This song puts a nice bow on the package that is December. I still think of winter as a bittersweet experience. It reminds me of how much fun I had during my winters as a kid, but my body reminds me how long ago that really was. Often, I dream of people I haven't seen since those winters, and I wake up unaware that what I'd just experienced wasn't real. I feel quite sad when reality sets in.
Enjoy.
LYRICS: I can't remember the name Of the place that I go back to The language deep Somewhere in sleep
I said that I was coming over I haven't seen you in years You look the same Though colors fade
This is how it's always been The tidy place that we come back to Preserved and thin Silent again

cheers!
"I wrote this song in hopes that one day I might be able to simultaneously get the senior discount at Old Country Buffet and hold hands with someone I'm madly in love with. Not really that first part though."
Because of that, if you decide to make a music video for it, I'm your director.
