In a world where sex, money, and politics rule the music industry, this artist still bases his music on what's hot without conforming to hip hop trends. His ability to create a sound of his own sets him apart from other new artists. The distinct voice and swagger makes Freeze the next superstar in hip-hop. Born 26 years ago in Akron Ohio, a city now famous for breeding pro athletes like LeBron James & Antonio Pitman, Freeze found his way out through music. Freeze gained his love for hip hop while watching his uncles break dancing on boxes and playing music from classic artists such as RUN DMC, Rakim, N.W.A., Slick Rick, and Xclan just to name a few. He would perform in his grand parents' basement with hopes of one day rocking the mic. Freeze first started seriously pursuing music while in Art College in Columbus, Ohio, where he learned to create his own album art & video production. He would make freestyle tapes with his roommates and participate in freestyle battles in local clubs. He teamed up with his roommate and recorded his first group album in the summer of 2002. The next year they linked up with underground rapper Ampichino, who introduced Freeze to artists such as Yukmouth, C-Bo, & The Mobb Figgaz. In the summer of 2004, Freeze put out his solo mix tape, "Salute", which started a big buzz locally, selling 4,500 Cd's out of the trunk. He continued working along with Ampichino and released their first national album entitled "Tha Stock Xchange," under Koch Records in the fall of 2006. This year is a very promising year for Freeze. His new single, "Chopped off", featuring G-Unit's clean up man Young Buck, is stirring up a buzz that is worthy of major label & media attention. "When we recorded the record it was crazy because Buck brought The Outlaws and C-Bo in the studio with us. I grew up listening to them and they was giving me props on my music", says Freeze. He is currently working on his solo album FREON, which promises to be a classic project. He also has a group album, "The City of G'z", along side Young Bossy and Ampichino that is already being praised as a hood classic. "I'm just blessed to have the opportunity to do it big" says Freeze. "I just put everything in God's hands, and he made my career happen." Freeze also runs his own magazine, media company and clothing line. He just recently signed on to appear in the film "Practice What You Preach" staring LL Cool J & Megan Good.
