Thanks for your feedback! I used my camera this weekend and realized how much I like filters - even if they are just protective UV filters. I think I have to give the nod to the 10-22 for that reason (plus I think it pairs better with my 24-105mm). So unless I find a killer deal on the 8-16, I'll go with the Canon 10-22... VERY tough decision though - Thanks for your help!

Tkirk3rd Tough choice, the Canon 10-22 is a great lens no doubt. I would go with the 10-22 for 2 reasons: 1) it does take filters and you might want to use a ND filter some day, and 2) The difference between 8 and 10mm is really not that great. I like having the ability to use a UV filter for protection against waterfall spray, etc. and that's not an option. If I shot a Canon crop camera I'd have the 10-22mm over the Sigma 8-16. (Curiously, I don't like the Nikon 10-24mm that's made in China, and would advise in favor of the Sigma if you were asking about a Nikon mount.) I hope that helps... THANKS! - Edward

Great Channel! I would appreciate your input: I'm trying to decide between the Canon 10-22mm and the Sigma 8-16mm. The Canon is a little longer, name brand, and can accept filters. The Sigma is wider, about $100 cheaper, and most reviews consider it sharper. I've got the 24-105mm lens and I worry the Sigma would leave too much of a gap between 16-24mm. I've also seen that polarizing filters aren't great on wide angle lenses so that shouldn't be a knock against the Sigma. I've gone back and forth between the two - any insight to break the tie would be great!

Tabl10s - Do you really want a video on spot metering and AE lock functions? Let me know... :) - Edward

Hey!,

Quit slacking on the video tutorials. Coming from the LX, I've never had to deal with spot metering or an AE Lock . When do I need these functions? Until I get some FA's, I'll be in full manual.
