For years sadly most of the media has betrayed us so terribly. Hardly ever showing the hard, honest working people of this county, never pointing out the gifts this area has too offer.


These videos are a personal biography through my eyes & what I see every day, the love for my family & the beauty of this county. All I ever wanted was for everyone to have a chance to see the Harlan County that we are proud of and that we love so much.

I'm truly sorry, but I don't know how long my videos will be allowed to be played on youtube. It's so sad that many companies are beginning to force youtube to start blocking videos.
It's going to break my heart when they begin to block my videos of Harlan County.. all I wanted is for everyone to enjoy, to see all the beauty that Harlan County has to offer...
At least just for a short time I truly enjoyed making videos. I wanted so much to film more of Harlan County, I guess it's just not meant to be : (

The Hawk you see is Phoenix, a dear sweet friend of the family, who we love very dearly, I will always believe he is a precious gift from God, because when times was so difficult and sad, that's when God sent him our way : )
It has been 4 years now, in that time Phoenix and his mate Nebula, has had 9 chicks: Link, Spyro, and Aurora, then Cynder, Archilles, Sampson. And this year we were a little scared, because the crows robbed the nest, but the babies are ok, Fawkes, Buckbeak and Shadowfax, this year 2011 we name the 3: Cloud, Michael, Janeway : ) and also a Grand baby has been coming by Snake Eyes : )so Hopefully every year we will enjoy and watch his family grow : ) Phoenix and his family and all the wild life and the beautiful mountain are true precious gifts for all of us to enjoy : )

Hi, I am amateur photographer and a amateur at making videos. I truly apologize for all my mistakes in my videos, I'm so new at this and I am learning as I go. I just wanted to make videos to have fun and to show everyone how beautiful it is here. I apologize for the camcorder moving so much, it's hard for me sometimes to hold it. I'm sorry about the first videos I made, they didn't come out the way I wanted, we had a old computer and it was sooooo hard making video with it, now that we have a new computer (YES) I hope to do a better job & to redo a lot of the old videos, especially try to make them in HD. I just wanted everyone to see how beautiful & wonderful it is here & how much we love this place.
We live in Wallins Creek KY, I'm married to wonderful & loving Jeff Hyatt, two great, wonderful kids, Ariel & Mikey, they keep me going. I love them so much, they are my world : )
Some of my friends said I should say more about myself, so here I go...
I have rheumatoid arthritis, had since I was 28 years old. when I first came down with RA, when in just a few months it really attack my body, it destroyed both of my knees, since I was so young many doctors didn't want to help me, they pretty much wanted me to wait in a wheelchair, but thanks to my family & Rheumatologist Dr Pampati, which I love her so much, she is a sweetheart : ) we found Dr Kotay in VA, I love him so much, because of him I can walk again. with in 5 years both knees & both hips where replaced, sad to say on the right hip replacement a nerve was cut going to my foot, I lost all feeling from my knee down & couldn't move my foot & when some feeling would come back, it was the worse pain I have ever felt, it was so painful with every heart beat. for many weeks I couldn't sleep & for along time I didn't know if I was going to walk again, it was one of the roughest time. today I have some of the feeling back now, it's not all back, but hey as long as I can walk, I'm happy : ) The Ra, I'm so sad to say has really affect my body, it is sad living with RA, it has stolen a lot from me, especially with my babys, when this RA started Ariel & Mikey was so young, Ariel was 4 & Mikey was 2 years old, I remember crying so much, I couldn't even pick my babys up, I couldn't play with them, when they would call for me I couldn't run to them, it was so sad for me, this RA has stolen so much from me, precious times with my babys that I can never get back. but it has taught me many things as well, to be thankful for everymoment of everyday with my family, to be thankful for the things I can do, to hold on to faith & hope, I'm still working on the patience though, I'm still having hard time with that one : ) It's taught me that I can be strong, but I'm still impatient : ) and it has taught me to stand up for myself, where before I really had a hard time doing that, It has shown me how much my husband & my childs, family & friends love me. And most of all that God & Jesus was with me every step of the way, I have to admit when things was the darkest, I was questioning where are you God, but looking back I can see They was with me, that all that time I wasn't alone & that God & Jesus made away for me.
So thank you again & again to all that prayed & helped me & my family, you are a true blessing. you are truly God's Angels on earth : )


So enjoy every moment of your life...because you don't what's coming your way...you never know what tomorrow might hold..be thankful for what you have, because it could be gone tomorrow..life is precious, your family is a gift, so enjoy them as much as possible. And most of all that you are never alone, God & Jesus is always with you, you might not see them at first, but later you will : )
May God & Jesus bless you, that you & your family will be safe, healthy & happy, that all your hopes & dreams come true.
