Just a quick response to a couple of your misconceptions about Atheism. Atheism does not need to stem from science, but of simple reasoning. I myself lost religion due to the inability of my scripture teachers to ask what I felt would be fairly simple and common questions like "how do we have free will if god is all powerful and all knowing?" The responses were always muddled and pathetic like "logic does not apply to god" or "god does not wish us to understand such things" and ultimately I surmised that this sounded more like man, with all his manipulative intent, than it did a divine creator. I therefore decided that god must either not exist, or simply be utterly indifferent. This required no understanding of science, just simple reasoning. Science may not have all the answers, but it never claimed it did. Religion claims to have the answers, but it is full of holes that it can never close because of the static nature of its various holy books.
